Do you meet the expectations of advanced team placement?

  •        Commitment and dedication! A.L.A. can only use those
    who can and will commit to all their practices- the percentage of
    mandatory practice 'show ups' through the season should be
    at least 95%.  
  •        Are you a good cheerleader, no, not in that way...are you
    someone we want to be around in a more challenging
    atmosphere.  As a coach- I must know that you are able to
    interact with others in a respectful, mature nature.
  •        Have you had experience in cheerleading ? if not, you
    may want to try one of our recital teams first before beginning a
    competitive team.  However, do not let this de rail you from
    auditioning if you feel you may have what it takes.  I have had a
    few girls who did make a competition team with out any prior
    training.  Please note: Just because you may not make a
    competition team, does not mean you didn't do well, you just
    may need more structured training time to get you to the level
    needed to compete.
  •        If you can not tumble, are you willing to take monthly
    gymnastics training at A.L.A.?  

                       ***2 day training camp in June will help you better
understand the criteria for comp teams.  Camp will also be helping those interested on dance
teams for competitions- not sure? Camp is a great way to find out!  We are here to teach you,
if we can't get you prepped in the amount of time, then we will place you in the program
where appropriate!  Good luck ladies! E mail if you have any questions, concerns or

**Please understand that camp is for EVERYONE, beginning or advanced! our staff is here to
improve the veterans and to teach these same things to beginners, so they too, one day can
be called 'veterans', we deeply encourage all new members to try camp, even if you don't
plan to do competition next season:

Senior Comp Cheer
Expectations:

Auditions
Mandatory

Must have a fantastic
memory and an
incredible sense of
catching on to 'new'
material quickly.

Jumps should be
mastered and
demonstrated and
must be at a great
height.

Tumbling skills will be
assessed but not
mandatory!  Those
with a tumbling pass
will be taken into
consideration.  Age
range to advance to
seniors 11-19. With
those 11-14 needing
to be very advanced
in competition cheer.

Will be done fairly

Our cheer senior
team is currently an
all star level 3, we are
allowed to throw
tucks and do head
over stunt rotations.

Junior Comp Cheer
Expectations:

Auditions
Mandatory

Must be advanced in
dance skills and
should be able to
take and fulfill
direction from coach
without argument.

Jump skills should be
a matching height
with the rest of the
team.

Tumbling will be
mandatory for junior,
youth and senior
members.

Must be a team
player, hard worker,
and have a good
listening ear to
prevent injuries.

Bases should be able
to demo a prep/full

Flier should be able
to demo a prep/full

Spots should be able
to demo proper
catches.

Age range varies:
from about 9-14
