Some past performances include: exhibition at competitions/ half time/pregame performances Pacers/ Huge Program Recital at the end of the season. We do not cheer for teams, because we are all star cheerleaders- we cheer for ourselves (this is NOT a sideline cheer program...if your child is over 5, they will begin to stunt and incorporate competitive style routines. This not only promotes them to become some of the most advanced cheerleaders around...but most ALL star cheerleaders who are dedicated to the process go on to be pro or collegiate cheerleaders. If you come in after November 20th, your child may only be eligible to do the end of season performance with her squad...however, we do take kids ALL SEASON LONG! Being involved in our beginner/intermediate cheer/dance groups teach : cheer jumps, routine, stunts and squad involvement, interaction and discipline. These girls learn to depend on one another in their sport and how to become someone in life that others can rely on. This is a great class and a full season will help any cheerleader wanting to become either a competition cheerleader or a school cheerleader do so, by providing skills necessary - however, it is always up to the cheerleader to want it enough, practice hard and stay dedicated enough to the process. Tumbling Classes Floor Tumble Classes- This class is designed 'per child'! Here , at ALA we are not a (gymnastics) facilitation center...but we can teach your child to flip! We do not provide instructors to do bars/beams etc... Floor Tumbling Skills can include; Cartwheels, Roundoffs, Standing Back Handsprings, Walk overs, Running Back Handsprings, Running and Standing Tucks, layouts, x outs, Kickouts and Fulls. In our classes, we get to know individual needs...therefore, we don't work on level basis. So, in the same class we may have someone learning their cartwheel and another girl learning her running back tuck. Once your child masters one thing we immediately begin working on something else. Why?? Because cheer and tumbling go hand in hand- You truly need to combine cheer and tumbling to be competitive in this industry. Some schools now not only require the girls to already know all their jump skills, dance and motion skills; but now must also know how to tumble as well. Many ALA parents do combine a cheer/dance class with a tumble class to gather these skills necessary. However, Tumbling is a class all it's own. If you choose to take a tumbling class instead of a cheer/dance class...combining it is not required. Toddler Team Tod Squad Classes- This class provides a fun and creative atmosphere overseen by our floor manager and taught by our own high level competitive senior all star cheerleaders. They learn BASIC skills that will ready them for the next step up (5-8) year old class. They learn basic cheer motions, jumps and will be taught a routine and they too, will perform. With the Tod Squad, we do add a few minutes to each session to teach level play tumbling: Rolls, cartwheels etc.. Competitive ALL STAR TRAVEL teams Competitive All Star Cheerleading or Dance Teams- These classes are by audition ONLY and usually begin with those who come out of our beginner/intermediate level teams once they are ready. Only those already advanced in cheerleading or dance can be a part of a high level competitive team. We have mini/youth, junior and senior level competitive cheerleading, our auditions are usually in April and anyone ages 5-18 may audition. Level coordination is determined by age/skill level factors. Mini/youth team are usually required to have certain skills: Cartwheels, back or front walkovers unassisted. Junior team are usually required to have certain skills: Backhandsprings (although some do not have to have them at least 90% of the girls we select should or be close too. Senior team girls are usually required to have certain skills: backhandsprings a must, tucks, layouts x outs or beyond are more level field skills on this team. This is a highly dedicated and more disciplined part of ALA Cheer Academy, attendance and motivation are required to remain an all star. Although auditions take place in April, if this is your first time looking into ALA and you missed auditions and believe you or your child have what it takes to be a competitive member and retain these skills, an audition may be set up by request.
